This place is probably one of my proudest finds this winter in Taipei! My friend and I were actually going to try out The Lobster Bar near MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing station. We were super excited but when we got there, it was closed! Feeling sad and hungry, this restaurant just appeared out of nowhere (Just kidding, it’s right around the corner) and immediately caught our attention because of the pretty lights inside.
In the buzzing Eastern District of Taipei, this cafe offers a fresh and elegant Mediterranean taste which is very unique among the countless cafes in Taipei. One Fifteen’s design resembles of an eichler house or a greenhouse, making it a very relaxing place to chill with friends.
We ordered the smoked salmon open sandwich and 2 freshly squeezed juice. The sandwich came with a tiny pot of poached egg with bacon and pasta sauce. The flavors are great and the ingredients are very fresh and natural. The bread was toasted perfectly, very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Plus, the display of the dish is simply pure art. In addition, One Fifteen has an open kitchen, making everything transparent to the customers, you can totally see your food being made.
If you’re looking for a place with light, organic, and healthy food, I highly recommend this place! The service was very attentive and it offers free wifi (one of the must-haves these days). It’s a solid 4.5/5 from me! The 0.5 deduction is because the capacity in this restaurant is only about 15-18 people which is a bit small. There are only 3 tables in the entire restaurant, seriously! However, I will definitely go back and try their desserts next time as well!
