Trip of Wonders Part I - 5 Instaworthy cafes in Bandung, Indonesia

If you were to ask me, what was the highlight of my foodie career in 2017, the answer is definitely going on the Trip of Wonders hosted by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia along with 9 other international influencers. Together, we explored 4 major destinations of Indonesia: Bandung, Joglosemar (Semarang/Solo/Jogja), Makassar, and Bali, on a 12-day journey. As a professional cafe hopper, it was a mandatory task for me to dive in the local cafe scene in Indonesia, and it turned out to be the best place to be caffeinated.

1. One Eighty Coffee Bar & Music

This is hands down one of the coolest cafes I've ever been. There is literally a POOL right outside the place and the best part? You can take off the shoes and dip your feet in the pool! Say what??? One Eighty is not only creative with their interior design choices but also their menu. It serves food from hot sandwiches to Indonesian style noodles. You'll never run out of food options here!

2. Two Hands Full Bandung has done it again! Two Hands Full is another gorgeous cafe with an absolutely lovely outdoor area! Seriously, seeing cafes like this makes me SOOO happy. I got the acai bowl and a hot latte. My friends got the fried chicken waffle, hot banana cake, and panna cotta. Everything was spot on and we definitely took advantage of the natural lighting there with our cameras + food.

3. CUPS {Coffee & Kitchen}

I am always on the hunt for artsy wall, well you know what they say, "follow your he(art)." The highlight of this place is no doubt the gorgeous blue art mural right in the center of the cafe, AKA the perfect spot to take your Instagram photo. Since we already ate lunch earlier that day, we decided to just order an apple-pear crisp with vanilla ice cream and strawberry egg puff waffle. You may also go upstairs and chill on the roof top when the weather is nice out! Address: Jln. Trunojoyo No. 25, Bandung 40115, Indonesia

This cafe/concept shop is literally every minimalist 's dream. The design of Mimiti is chic and modern with the exposed concrete walls and wooden chairs. There is a small section of clothing display indoor and a cool corner with some hypebeast art pieces and 2 KAWS companions. The must-order drink at Mimiti is the coconut coffee, yup you heard it right, COCONUT!! Mimiti uses coconut water to brew their coffee, therefore the coffee is slightly sweeter and more refreshing. Most seatings at Mimiti are in the outdoor area, so it could be a problem when it's raining. Other than that, this is the perfect spot to wind down your day.

5. kuro coffee Inspired by Japanese coffee shops, Kuro Coffee is a tiny yet cozy coffee shop. The Japanese word "kuro" stands for "black." The owner of Kuro Coffee actually planted and processed all the coffee beans used himself in Maribaya. The space is very compact and minimalistic. In addition to their various coffee choices, the store also sells handmade ceramics and small succulents.
